It may be a necessary choice for those who are celiac or have an intolerance to gluten, but for those looking to try this new diet, consider these side effects and ask yourself if it's really worth it.
-You're not always eating healthier. To make up for the loss of gluten, many gluten-free snacks are often higher in sugar, salt, and fat.
-Supplements can't always make up for the nutrients you're losing, like fiber, iron, and B vitamins. These nutrients are always best absorbed through real food and not some fake capsules, which could potentially have some sneaky gluten in them as well.

. I for one am gluten-free to avoid stomach issues, but it could cause the exact opposite for others.
-It's not necessarily a quick fix for weight loss (what?!) I know, this is the harsh reality here, but it's true. You still have to eat healthier while maintaining this diet if you want to lose weight. Nothing good is easy. Sigh.
